Position Summary
Are you a skilled mechanic who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance & Facilities team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the reliability and availability of our production equipment. By executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, you will help minimize downtime, optimize manufacturing asset performance, and foster a safe, high-performing workplace.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Maintenance Execution (40%): Perform routine preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance based on work orders. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures quickly to keep production lines running smoothly.
- Performance Analysis & Improvement (20%): Partner with the maintenance supervisor and production teams to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on equipment failures. Maintain clear technical documentation, including routing and equipment data sheets.
- Operational Optimization (20%): Proactively propose and implement initiatives to improve maintenance efficiency and reduce energy, water, vapor, and air consumption.
- Safety & Compliance (20%): Identify, report, and correct unsafe working conditions immediately. Perform all tasks in strict accordance with internal safety regulations, OSHA standards, and our corporate Code of Ethics.
What We Look For (Qualifications)
- Education: Technical school degree or vocational certification in Mechanical, Automotive Mechanics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–3 years of hands-on experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.
- Technical Skills: * Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems and basic process automation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and equipment schematics.
- Familiarity with CMMS/ERP systems for logging work orders and tracking machine history.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) for basic reporting and data tracking.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems, welding, and basic PLC troubleshooting. Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5S methodologies is a major plus.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be comfortable walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and working in tight or awkward positions during equipment repairs.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy tools or equipment components up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work on a fast-paced production floor with exposure to noise, vibrations, varying temperatures, and mechanical/high-energy hazards.
- Strict adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements (safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection) and safety protocols like Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and machine guarding.
