Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) / Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to join our busy outpatient orthopedic practice in Freehold. This part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and provide top-tier care to patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and hand-related conditions. The ideal candidate will be passionate about rehabilitating patients, skilled in hand therapy techniques, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive evaluations and treatment plans for patients with orthopedic and hand-related injuries, including upper extremity disorders, fractures, tendon repairs, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
- Administer therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, splinting, modalities, exercises, and ergonomic training to improve functional independence and quality of life.
- Develop customized treatment plans based on patient-specific needs, goals, and diagnoses.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on rehabilitation techniques, injury prevention, and self-management strategies.
- Document all evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with clinical guidelines and insurance requirements.
- Manage a caseload of patients, maintaining a high level of professionalism and organization in a fast-paced environment.
- Stay current with advancements in occupational and hand therapy through continuing education and professional development.
- Assist in maintaining clinic supplies and equipment to ensure safety and quality patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards in clinical practice.
Qualifications:
- Degree: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Certification: Must be a licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of New Jersey.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an OT, preferably in an outpatient orthopedic or hand therapy setting.
- Experience in manual therapy techniques, splinting, and ergonomic assessments.
- Prior experience in treating conditions such as tendonitis, fractures, arthritis, nerve injuries, and post-surgical recovery is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in hand therapy and upper extremity rehabilitation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy outpatient setting.
- Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation and general office software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage a busy caseload.
