Job Summary and Qualifications
The Medical Imaging nurse is an integral part of the HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital Radiology Team. The major goal of the Radiology nurse is to provide exceptional quality nursing care to outpatients in the Radiology Department. The Medical Imaging RN provides nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols already developed for the healthcare organization.
What you will do in this role:
- Assess, plan and evaluate the nursing care needs of the patient before, during and after the invasive procedures.
- Provide nursing care to the patient undergoing the invasive procedures.
- Assist Radiologists during examinations and procedures.
- Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Instruct and educate patients and families.
Under the general supervision of a physician or a radiologist, the incumbent is responsible for assessing the nursing needs and initiating appropriate intervention for patients according to nursing and medical imaging department philosophy, goals, policies and procedures. Proper nursing standards are to be practiced as well as assist in the education program for staffing needs.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing.
- 2 or more years of RN experience required.
- Prior experience in interventional radiology, OR, imaging, ER or ICU strongly preferred.
- Current unencumbered South Carolina or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse License
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification on hire
- ACLS on hire or within 90 days of transfer or new hire
