We're looking for an HR Generalist for Wheat Holdings, working out of our Wheat Montana (Three Forks, MT) bakery OR Stone Ground Bakery (Salt Lake City, UT)
We're building something here, and we need you! We make bread people love. Two bakeries, about 300 people, and a business that's growing fast. What we don't have yet is the HR foundation to match. That's where you come in. This isn't a role where you'll sit behind a desk and process paperwork. You'll be on the floor, in the mix, and part of the team that's building how we take care of our people. We're also open to full-time and part-time, and in-person work in either or Three Forks MT or Salt Lake City UT location. What you'll do
You'll work alongside people who know this business inside and out, partnering with them on the work that keeps our people supported every day.
Payroll and HRIS
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time in Paycom
- Maintain employee records and keep our data clean, current, and compliant
People operations
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, and employment verification
- Run new hire orientation and make day one feel like a welcome, not a transaction
- Administer benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401k
- Support recruitment from job posting through interviews, offers, and background checks
Employee relations and manager support
- Be the person employees trust to bring concerns to
- Coach supervisors and managers through performance conversations and disciplinary matters
- Help resolve conflict early, before it becomes something bigger
Compliance and reporting
- Keep us compliant with federal, Montana, and Utah employment law
- Manage I-9 verification, wage and hour requirements, FMLA, and workers' compensation
- Prepare and file required reports and documentation
- Support OSHA recordkeeping and safety training coordination
What you bring
- 3 to 5+ years of hands-on HR experience, ideally in manufacturing, food production, distribution, or another frontline environment
- Real payroll processing experience. Paycom is a plus, but if you've run payroll in ADP, UKG, or something similar, you'll pick it up.
- If applying for Salt Lake City, fluency in Spanish and English. A large part of our production workforce speaks Spanish in Salt Lake, and this role only works if you can build real relationships with them.
- Working knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, and I-9 requirements
- Comfort with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office
- Discretion with confidential information, always
- Clear communication with everyone from the production floor to the executive team
