About the Role
Mission Viejo Nadadores is seeking a passionate and motivated Assistant Coach to help develop swimmers in a positive, athlete-centered environment. Working alongside the Division Director and coaching staff, you will help athletes build strong technical skills while fostering confidence, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and coach daily practices for assigned training groups.
- Teach proper stroke technique, skill development, and age-appropriate dryland training.
- Attend assigned practices, competitions, staff meetings, and team events.
- Prepare meet entries and assist with competition logistics.
- Communicate professionally with athletes, families, and coaching staff.
- Maintain athlete records and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
- Create a safe, positive, and engaging environment for all swimmers.
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship.

Qualifications
- Competitive swimming and/or coaching experience required.
- Strong knowledge of stroke technique and swimmer development.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Current (or ability to obtain) USA Swimming coach certifications, including CPR/AED, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection Training, and a current background check.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; TeamUnify experience is a plus.
Schedule
- Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability required.
- Attendance at assigned swim meets and team events is expected.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
