Pay Range: $26-32/hr
Position Summary:

This position is responsible for monitoring inventory levels of critical production materials, purchasing packaging materials and ingredients, creating, and communicating daily/weekly production plans, meeting with vendors to secure raw fruit and maintaining a wide knowledge of their products, prices and availability.
Responsibilities:
-
Creating, monitoring, and communicating daily and weekly production plans that will meet customer expectations and efficiently utilize the available manufacturing resources.

Working closely with the business teams to ensure all parties are aware of the production status and that work planning and execution objectives are integrated and communicated.

Analyze and schedule packaging department labor.

Analyze requests for large-scale maintenance/repairs to determine validity of downtime versus schedule to ensure customer demands are always met.

Managing packaging material inventories to ensure that adequate supply is available for production.

Working with the corporate procurement team to purchase raw materials and packaging to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply.

Prepare production reports and participate in meetings as required.

Procure fruit for processing.

Participate in production meetings as required.

Creating purchase orders for secured fruit loads.

Travel required to visit growers.
Role in Food Safety:
-
Ensure materials and ingredients are purchased from vendors approved in a manner consistent with company SQF, HACCP and food safety policies.

Ensure production planning is accomplished in a manner that is consistent with company SQF, HACCP and food safety policies.
Job Requirements:

Much of the required work is at a desk, however, some time will be spent in a plant environment, therefore:

Must be able to work in hot, humid and/or cold conditions.

Must be able to stand, bend, crawl, kneel, reach above shoulders, climb ladders, and crawl in tight and awkward workplaces for long periods of time.
Non-Physical Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business and professional designation such as APICS would be preferred.
5-7 years’ experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment
2-3 years’ experience in production planning and/or procurement
Excellent communication skills
Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience with MRP/ERP systems
Problem-solving, statistical, and analytical skills are essential.
A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
Motivated, focused, and accountable for results.
Valid Washington Driver’s License
Reliable Transportation to commute to multiple grower sites.
