Immigration Attorney – Employment-Based
Location: Cincinnati, OH | Limited WFH eligible after probationary period | Full-Time
About the Role
MU is seeking a business-minded immigration attorney to join our Cincinnati office. The ideal candidate understands that immigration is a key corporate function. They will advise HR and senior leadership, review high volumes of petitions, manage compliance, and deliver practical legal solutions that support business objectives. We provide mentorship, regular case-strategy review, and direct supervision on substantive immigration practice. We value attorneys who can independently manage complex matters, are strong at building relationships and running a high-volume caseload. There are no billable hour requirements.
Responsibilities
- Advise corporate clients on employment-based immigration strategy, workforce planning, and compliance
- Manage corporate client relationships independently, serving as a trusted partner to HR and senior management
- Prepare and file employment-based green cards (PERM, I-140, NVC, I-485) and business NIVs (H-1B, L-1, TN, and related categories)
- Identify creative, compliant solutions to complex immigration challenges; contribute ideas that improve how the firm serves its clients
- Draft comprehensive responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Revoke (NOIRs), and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs)
- Support clients through USCIS FDNS site visits, audits, and other government inquiries or communications
- Remain current on rapidly evolving immigration law, policy and agency practice, participating in continuing legal education (CLEs) programs as appropriate
- Meet filing deadlines and manage matters independently with appropriate supervision
- Collaborate respectfully with paralegals, support staff, and senior attorneys; contribute to a professional and positive team culture

Qualifications
- J.D. and active U.S. state bar admission required
- Prior employment-based immigration experience preferred but not necessarily required
- Strong client communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Openness to adopting new legal technologies and a willingness to engage with continuous process improvement
