Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, facilitating communication between customers and the service department. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive services, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to accurately estimate repair costs and services needed.
Duties
- Greet customers and assess their service needs in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide detailed estimates for vehicle maintenance and repair services, including diesel engine repair, air brake systems, shocks and struts, tire service, and more.
- Document customer concerns and relay information to technicians for accurate diagnosis and repair.
- Maintain clear communication with customers throughout the service process, providing updates on vehicle status and any changes to estimates.
- Utilize automotive service knowledge to upsell additional services when appropriate, enhancing customer satisfaction while contributing to sales goals.
- Ensure all service orders are processed efficiently and accurately in the system.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in automotive service writing or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices and automotive services, auto estimating, and general vehicle diagnostics.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and team members.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for documentation and estimating purposes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- A background in automotive sales is a plus but not required.
