Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Multi-Spindle Lathe Programmer/Operator to join our growing manufacturing team. In this role, you will setup & operate CNC Mills, CNC Lathes and INDEX/multi-spindle/ multiplex machines to produce precision components with efficiency and accuracy. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential to ensure high-quality output. If you thrive on precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement, this is the perfect role for you!
Duties
- Set up and operate multi-spindle CNC lathes, ensuring optimal machine performance and safety standards are being met.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce precise parts.
- Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, proving part programs
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part dimensions.
- Set-up CNC machines by installing and adjusting 3 & 4 jaw chucks, tool attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops and stock pushers, indicating vices
- Perform trial runs to verify program accuracy, then monitor the machining process to ensure it maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements, detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment including electrical discharge machining (EDM) tools and CNC milling machines.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste, optimize workflow, and improve overall production efficiency.
- Operate forklifts safely to transport & load raw materials into machines and/or move finished parts within the facility.
Experience
- Proven experience operating multi-spindle CNC lathes or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CAM programming software, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators accurately.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, maintenance procedures, welding techniques, and lean manufacturing practices is a plus.
Join us in a role that combines technical mastery with innovative manufacturing practices! We value energetic team players committed to quality craftsmanship and continuous learning—ready to make an impact through precision machining excellence!
