Tru Anesthesia is a growing portable General Anesthesia practice dedicated to providing safe, high-quality anesthesia services to dental offices throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. Our team travels to multiple dental practices each day, delivering exceptional patient care in a variety of clinical settings.
We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and patient-focused Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Position Summary
As an EMT with Tru Anesthesia, you will assist our anesthesia providers in delivering safe and efficient patient care before, during, and after general anesthesia procedures. This position requires daily travel to dental offices throughout the Kansas City metro area.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with preparing patients for general anesthesia procedures.
- Monitor patients during anesthesia under the direction of the anesthesia provider.
- Assist with patient recovery and monitor patients until discharge criteria are met.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs.
- Assist with patient positioning and safe transfers.
- Set up, maintain, and organize anesthesia equipment and supplies.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and prepared for each clinical day.
- Maintain accurate documentation as directed.
- Provide compassionate, professional patient care and communication.
- Travel to various dental offices throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting anesthesia equipment.
- Heavy lifting is required.
- Follow all company policies, OSHA standards, and patient safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Current EMT certification required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support/CPR) certification required.
- Strong patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the Kansas City metro area.
- Ability to lift and move heavy medical equipment.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Previous experience in procedural sedation, surgery, emergency medicine, or recovery is preferred but not required.
