Repair Shop Manager will be in charge of running day-to-day operations of our bustling heavy truck and trailer repair shop. You will spearhead organizational processes, while improving shop efficiency and maintaining the existing levels of customer satisfaction. Our ever-expanding operation needs an innovator and a confident and customer service-oriented leader.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise repair shop staff and coordinate roles and schedules
Improve and implement staff accountability procedures
Advise on recruitment and recommend new hires
Motivate subordinate staff and maximize their efficiency
Manage customer service, orders and invoicing
Maintain accurate records of repair requests, service orders and billing
Manage purchasing and inventory systems
Creatively and proactively manage vendor and supplier relations
Seek out business development opportunities
Supervise DPS inspection procedures
Oversee safety protocols and minimize accident risk
Dispatch roadside service calls
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum five years experience working in a heavy truck repair shop
Minimum three years in a heavy truck repair shop supervisory position
Proficiency in repair shop management software (Shopmonkey or similar)
Familiarity with diesel engines, brake, transmission and suspension systems, emissions and diagnostics
Experience with OSHA and DOT safety regulations
OSHA 30 Outreach General Industry certification desired
Experience with service orders and invoicing
Experience with parts purchasing and inventory
Excellent customer satisfaction skills
Familiarity with over-the-road trucking industry
Bilingual Spanish highly desired
Associate Degree or higher
ABOUT THE COMPANY
BZ Diesel Repair is a rapidly growing diesel repair shop in North Houston that services 115+ semi trucks and trailers operating under its sister trucking company, BZ Express, as well as external customers. We provide superior diagnostics services, complete engine, suspension, transmission and air conditioning systems work. In addition to servicing semi truck and trailers, we added heavy towing capabilities and are a DPS-licensed State safety inspection facility.
