Coordinated Entry Specialist
Responsible for arranging initial housing supportive services for individuals and families who are homeless with intake, prevention, intervention, housing location, and service coordination and linkage to other resources in Grant, Iowa, Lafayette, Green and Richland Counties.
This position is located at Family Advocates; however, it is not a direct client position. The employee will work with people who are experiencing homelessness to enter them in the CE system. Employee will also work with other agencies to become entry points for those who are in need of assistance.

Qualifications:
1. Education and/or experience in human services work.
2. Degree in related field preferred, not required.
3. Knowledge of homelessness, domestic abuse/shelter programs and sexual assault.
4. Passion for assisting others who have experienced abuse and are experiencing homelessness.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and non-judgmentally with paid and unpaid staff, clients and their youth, other professionals, and community agencies.
6. Flexibility in scheduling.
7. Extremely detailed and organized.
8. Crisis intervention skills.
9. Public speaking experience preferred.
10. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
11. Flexibility, ability to prioritize, and experience in working on multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
12. Scrupulous adherence to principles of confidentiality.
Essential General Responsibilities:
1. Implement and monitor all program policies and goals.
2. Maintain records and statistics.
3. Provide and perform Intake, prevention, intervention, housing location and service coordination and linkage.
4. Coordinate service delivery, recommend system improvements and assist with expediting the process.
5. Serve as the Coordinated Entry expert in the local coordinated entry system.
6. Ensure consistent and accurate flow of information.
7. Meet offsite with clients and potential clients.
8. Attend and participate in Southwest Homeless Coalition meetings.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Assistant Director.
Essential Direct Services Responsibilities:
1. Work with individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Grant, Iowa, Lafayette, Green and Richland Counties.
2. Collaborate with other agencies serving the homeless population in the five counites served.
3. Responsible for arranging initial housing supportive services for individuals and families who are homeless.
4. Implement initial contact system for deliver of services.
5. Provide outreach services to go beyond those that present for assistance; target those least likely to ask for help.
6. Assess needs of people experiencing homelessness.
7. Provide case management services to build ongoing rapport.
8. Provide housing/counselling services to facilitate access to a safe, stable permanent home as quickly as possible.
9. Use existing resources that lead to permanent housing for clients.
Essential Training Responsibilities:
1. Must complete the volunteer training.
2. Attend workshops/conferences pertaining to domestic violence and sexual assault.
3. Conduct training and in-services for schools, community agencies, and professionals.
4. Provide training to program volunteers and interns.
Additional Responsibilities/Requirements:
1. Attend staff meetings.
2. Valid driver’s license, automobile, and insurance.
3. Access to a private telephone.
4. Available nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $19.00 per hour
