Duties
- Prepare ingredients through precise slicing, dicing, and portioning using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by preparing components of various dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Cook a variety of menu items efficiently while maintaining food safety standards in production and handling.
- Support food preparation tasks such as assembling salads, garnishes, and side dishes to streamline kitchen operations.
- Follow safety standards in production areas, including proper food handling, sanitation practices, and equipment usage to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service and catering support for special events or large orders.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, storage areas, and kitchen equipment to uphold health regulations and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with food handling and safety protocols.
- Proven kitchen experience within restaurants or the food industry, showcasing strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Skilled in knife handling, slicing techniques, and meal preparation with attention to detail and safety.
- Understanding of food safety management systems and adherence to safety standards during production.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Experience supporting menu planning, catering services, or serving in a hospitality setting is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members across shifts.
