Job Summary:
A highly respected California litigation firm is seeking an exceptional Senior Trial Paralegal to support first-chair trial attorneys in complex, high-stakes litigation matters. This is a rare opportunity to join a premier trial practice handling catastrophic injury, product liability, wrongful death, and other sophisticated civil litigation matters.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive courtroom and trial experience and have a proven track record supporting lead trial counsel through all phases of litigation, including multiple jury trials to verdict.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner directly with first-chair trial attorneys on complex litigation matters from case inception through trial and resolution
- Lead all aspects of trial preparation, including exhibit management, witness preparation, deposition designations, demonstratives, trial binders, and courtroom logistics
- Coordinate and manage expert witnesses, consultants, vendors, and litigation support teams
- Prepare and maintain witness lists, exhibit lists, jury instructions, verdict forms, motions in limine, and other trial-related materials
- Organize, analyze, and summarize extensive case records, discovery, medical records, depositions, and evidence
- Assist with trial strategy development and execution
- Support attorneys during trial, including courtroom presentation, exhibit management, witness coordination, and real-time trial support
- Ensure compliance with all court deadlines, local rules, and litigation requirements
- Serve as a trusted resource and strategic partner to trial attorneys throughout the litigation process
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years of experience as a litigation or trial paralegal
- Minimum 10 jury trials through verdict while directly supporting first-chair trial counsel
- Extensive experience supporting first-chair attorneys in complex civil litigation
- Significant experience preparing cases for trial in both California state and federal courts
- Demonstrated success managing high-exposure, high-value litigation matters
- Advanced knowledge of California civil procedure, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Strong experience coordinating expert witnesses and managing large volumes of evidence and case materials
- Proficiency with litigation support and trial presentation software
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to anticipate attorney needs, exercise sound judgment, and perform under pressure during trial
- Ability to travel for trial assignments as needed
