Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Direct Support Professional Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will combine your driving expertise with compassionate customer service to ensure clients reach their destinations comfortably and on time. Your responsibilities will include operating various types of vehicles, including shuttle buses, limousines, and paratransit vans, while maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of vehicles such as shuttle buses, paratransit vans to transport clients to appointments, activities, or community events
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and proper maintenance
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, providing support as needed for heavy lifting or mobility challenges
- Deliver excellent customer service by communicating clearly, courteously, and professionally with clients and team members
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance needs
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure the well-being of passengers and others on the road
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks or report issues promptly to ensure vehicle reliability
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving preferred
- Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or limousine services
- Ability to operate heavy vehicles such as school buses or paratransit vans safely and confidently
- Strong communication skills for interacting effectively with clients and team members
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics and safety procedures
- Prior experience in customer service roles is highly desirable
- Must meet all state licensing requirements for commercial or specialized driving (e.g., <PERSON> driver certification if applicable)
