Summary
The Delivery Truck Driver is responsible for pick-up and delivery of equipment, tools, and installation materials to the main office and/or job sites. Job-related contact will be between shipping/receiving manager, foreman, purchasing agents, construction managers and vendors.
Essential Duties

Driving truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area.

Verifying load against shipping papers.

Delivering equipment, tools, and installation materials from inventory or distributors to job-sites and vendors.

Coordinating with the Shipping and Receiving Manager for efficient allocation of time and service to the installation crews.

Maintaining telephone or radio contact with direct report and Foreman to receive delivery instructions. Must sign in and out after each job. Must sign in with vehicle identity information.
- Must inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas oil, water, etc., prior to driving to work site.

May perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.

Assisting with warehouse duties as directed by supervisor.

Use of phones, earplugs, etc. can only be used while on break. Use of phones, earplugs, etc. can't not be used while working.

Load and unload the delivery truck.

Drive a company vehicle obeying all the traffic regulations as well as driving in a safe manner.

Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required on all jobs.

Verify all loads to be transported are securely and safely loaded to meet all safety requirements.

Perform a variety of duties which may often change, as well as repeating tasks of short duration according to a set procedure.

Must not have fear of heights (Acrophobia).

Work independently and under minimal supervision.
Licenses/Certifications

Valid Florida Driver's License is required.

Incumbent must be insurable at all times by CES insurance carrier.

CDL License- Preferred but not required.

Local and occasional out-of-town travel within Florida is required.
