We are seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our fast-paced, collaborative veterinary team. This position is ideal for an RVT who is confident in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, patient care, and leadership within a hospital setting.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled, compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care and client service. We are looking for a technician who can work independently, support veterinarians efficiently, and help mentor and guide support staff.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients during pre-operative, surgical, and post-operative procedures
- Perform induction and monitoring of general anesthesia, including intubation
- Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures
- Perform dental cleanings/polishing and assist with simple extractions
- Place IV catheters and perform advanced technical skills
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Collect laboratory samples including blood, urine, fecal, and cytology samples
- Perform radiographs and assist with diagnostic procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records and controlled substance logs
- Educate clients on preventive care, treatment plans, and hospitalized patient updates
- Support veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment and surgical area
- Promote strong communication and teamwork throughout the hospital
- Help maintain compliance with hospital protocols and patient safety standards
Qualifications
- Active California RVT license required
- Minimum 2+ years of clinical RVT experience preferred
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience required
- Dental experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with IDEXX Neo or related veterinary software
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Team-oriented mindset with leadership abilities
