What You'll Do
As a DSP/Program Assistant, you'll provide compassionate support and individualized training to help people achieve greater independence and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals in working toward their personal goals through daily programming and activities.
- Provide encouragement, coaching, and support to develop life, social, and work readiness skills.
- Promote independence while respecting each person's choices, rights, and dignity.
- Support community inclusion through recreational activities, volunteer opportunities, and community outings.
- Build positive relationships with community partners and resources that help individuals achieve their goals.
- Assist with personal care needs when necessary, including feeding, hygiene, dressing, toileting, and mobility support.
- Observe, document, and maintain accurate records of daily activities, behaviors, and progress.
- Lead and participate in group activities that encourage learning, engagement, and social interaction.
- Safely transport individuals using agency vehicles, including vans and small buses.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in human services, caregiving, healthcare, education, or related fields is preferred, but not required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate agency vehicles.
