Under the general direction of the Manager of Support Services and Supervisors of Support Services the Hospital Laboratory Tech III (HLT III) functions as a technical resource for the Main Operating Room, providing support to perioperative personnel which includes but not limited to surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff. The HLT III is responsible for the inspection, preventive maintenance, performance verification, troubleshooting, repair coordination, and operational readiness of anesthesia machines, operating room equipment, and other clinical devices assigned to the Main Operating Room.
The HLT III manages equipment inventory, assists with capital equipment tracking, coordinates repairs and preventive maintenance with vendors and Biomedical Engineering, and helps ensure that all equipment is safe, functional, and available to support uninterrupted patient care. The HLT III also performs other duties associated with the Main Operating Room.
The HLT III performs duties with minimal supervision and completes assignments in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. Work is periodically reviewed by the supervisor. Assignments are made by the direct supervisor, OR leadership, anesthesia leadership, and other designated management personnel.
