Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. This role involves supporting residents in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide patient observation and monitor health status, including vital signs and medication administration.
- Support residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely.
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other developmental disabilities.
- Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and safety protocols.
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement.
- Document care activities accurately while respecting privacy and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to ensure comprehensive support.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, or home & community care is highly desirable.
- Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and HIPAA compliance are preferred or required upon hire.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs is advantageous.
- Strong patient observation skills coupled with the ability to monitor vital signs effectively.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience when working with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional resident care. Pay: $14.50 - $15.00 per hour
