We're hiring a full-time barista for our Dayton café. If you like the rhythm of a busy bar, take pride in a well-pulled shot, and enjoy the kind of regulars who know your name by week two, keep reading.
Experience behind an espresso machine is great, but not a dealbreaker. We'll teach you our drinks, our machines, and our standards. What we're really after is someone who cares about the craft, moves with purpose during a rush, and treats customers like they're happy to see them — because they should be.
The basics
- 40 hours per week, including some weekend shifts (that's where the good tips are anyway).
- Shifts between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM — early birds especially welcome.
- On-site in Dayton, OH.
- Weekly pay plus tips.
- Full paid training on our menu, machines, and workflow.
- Immediate start available.
A day behind the bar
Every shift moves a little differently, but you can expect to be:
- Pulling shots, steaming milk, and building drinks to spec.
- Taking orders at the counter and running the register.
- Chatting with customers, remembering the regulars, and recommending drinks to the newcomers.
- Keeping the bar clean, stocked, and organized throughout the shift.
- Restocking pastries, syrups, cups, and everything else that runs out faster than you'd think.
- Helping your teammates when the line hits the door.
- Closing down the bar properly at the end of the day.
Who tends to do well here
The baristas who thrive with us usually:
- Actually enjoy coffee and want to get better at making it.
- Stay calm and focused when there are ten drinks on the ticket.
- Are warm with customers without faking it.
- Show up on time, every time — especially for opens.
- Keep a clean station without being asked twice.
- Roll with the little chaos of café life and don't take it personally.
Previous café, bar, or restaurant experience is a plus, but a good attitude and a willingness to learn will get you far.
What you get out of it
- Weekly paychecks plus a solid tip share.
- Free drinks on shift and a discount when you're off the clock.
- Real training from people who care about coffee.
- Steady full-time hours you can build a life around.
- A team that has each other's backs during the morning rush.
- A path into lead barista and shift supervisor roles if you want to grow.
