Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safe Driving: Drive the truck to designated stops and execute freight deliveries to customers in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
- DOT Compliance: Strictly comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations as well as company safety rules and policies.
- Customer Service: Always maintain a professional, positive attitude and deliver excellent customer service at every stop.
- Incident Reporting: Immediately report all vehicle accidents, equipment maintenance issues, delays, or personal injuries to management.
- Schedule Flexibility: Maintain a flexible work schedule and consistently report to work on time for all scheduled dispatches.
- Workspace Maintenance: Keep the truck cabin, trailer, and immediate work areas clean, orderly, and safe.
- Professional Appearance: Report to work with a neat, clean, and professional appearance matching company standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Licensing & Credentials: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A and a valid TWIC card (required).
- Driving Experience: Two years (minimum) of safe, verifiable commercial truck driving experience are required.
- Port Operations: Practical experience picking up, dropping off, and navigating the NJ/NY Port system.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic hands-on experience servicing trucks and working with diesel engines.
- Document Interpretation: Ability to read, interpret, and follow critical documents such as safety regulations, DOT rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Pre-Employment Screening: Must be willing to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
