Overview
We are seeking a leader who can lead an after school program for Elementary Children in an Aftercare program. (50 to 85 children in program) The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing an educational environment for young children. This position involves leading children and staff in daily activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, and fostering their development through engaging educational experiences. The Site Coordinator will work closely with parents and staff to provide high-quality care and support for each child's growth.
This job is Monday - Friday 1:30pm to 6pm at the elementary school and additional hours (11.5 hrs) at the Club in Billerica. You start your work day at the Club located at 19 Campbell Rd Billerica then head towards your site to finish out your day.
Responsibilities
- Lead Group Leader and Assistant group leaders through positive leadership. Responsible for all aspects of the site. Safety, child enrichment & development.
- Develop and delivery of a range of developmentally appropriate programs and activities for 6–12-year-olds.
- Programming can include, but is not limited to, academic enrichment activities, homework assistance, crafts, games and athletic and recreational activities.
- Serve as a responsible and reliable role model for children participating in the program.
- Maintain a safe and clean program area.
- Participate in individual and group supervision sessions; participate in professional development opportunities as required.
- Lead and collaborate with staff on programming and special events.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment by promoting teamwork, cooperation, and mutual respect among members and staff.
- Supervise and redirect program participants within the program area and throughout the program.
- Follow all EEC guidelines to ensure compliance with site requirements and club requirements
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to lead children and staff members in a positive manner
- Collaborative skills - Demonstrated experience working with others collaboratively
- Must be at least 20 years old and have elementary school childcare experience
Have a high school diploma or equivalent one year of experience working with school age children. Ten hours of EEC Training hours must be completed prior to start date or be EEC 2.0 certified for After School care.
- Must be or become CPR / First Aid certified. (We offer training in house)
- Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work club hours especially as seasons and service needs change.
