Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and provisionally licensed Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in behavioral health and mental health counseling, with a focus on providing therapeutic support to children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. This role requires a commitment to upholding HIPAA regulations and ensuring the confidentiality of client information while delivering effective therapy tailored to each individual's needs.
Duties
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess clients' mental health and behavioral needs.
- Collect and analyze data to inform treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions focused on behavioral therapy techniques.
- Develop personalized treatment plans that address the unique challenges faced by clients, particularly children and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to support clients' progress and well-being.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay informed about best practices in mental health counseling and behavioral health interventions.
- Individual Therapy: Conduct individual therapy sessions with clients to address their specific needs and goals.
- Group Therapy: Facilitate group therapy sessions to provide a supportive environment for clients to share experiences and learn from one another.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond to and manage crises as they arise, providing immediate support and intervention.
- Case Management: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for clients, monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client interactions, progress, and treatment plans.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including medical professionals, psychiatrists, and case managers.
- Community Outreach: Participate in community outreach activities to increase awareness of the facility's services and promote mental health wellness.
Requirements
- A degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
- Licensure: Must be on a track to be licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or other qualified license in the state of Colorado.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with mental health disorders, substance abuse issues, or developmental disabilities
- Experience working with children and individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of diagnostic evaluation processes and data collection methods.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and mental health counseling practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
