The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office of Franklin County seeks a full-time Prosecutor/Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney. The position requires preparing for and prosecuting criminal cases, along with other customary tasks. Applicant must be a graduate of an accredited law school with active membership in the Virginia State Bar. The successful candidate must have a cooperative spirit, a strong work ethic, and the ability to communicate effectively with law enforcement partners as well as victims, witnesses, and members of the bar to build strong partnerships. Prosecuting wide range of misdemeanors and felonies in all courts. Preference given to applicants with 5+ years of legal and trial experience. (Experience with property crimes a plus). All attorneys typically attend spring conference and are encouraged to attend additional programs. A successful background check is required. The salary range will be between $95,000- $97,500/year depending on qualifications and experience. Start date July 1st, 2026, open until filled. The position offers excellent full-time benefits.
