Job Summary:
A fixed-income trader executes security trades on behalf of institutional and retail clients based on equity research on fixed-income investments. The fixed-income trader draws from knowledge on specific markets to develop a trading strategy that responds to trends in the current market to enact trades on the sell side and the buy side. Employees working in this capacity are expected to develop and monitor assessments on portfolio risk by collaborating with analysts and portfolio managers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Expert application of capital markets analytics, trading strategies, and risk management techniques, including executing and supervising moderate retail-structured trading flows and capital commitments when appropriate

Advanced management and development of internal and external trading systems and related tools, including downstream implications

Deliver client service excellence directly as well as through others, anticipating service needs to drive results

Drive operational excellence initiatives to align with the firm's vision

Attract, develop, and retain quality traders from diverse backgrounds that enable the achievement of team objectives

Establish annual priorities and strategic direction for a team of traders in alignment with the department, trading floor, division, and firm objectives

Leverage the depth and breadth of internal and external networks to foster broader results
Additional Duties:

Responsible for Bank Secrecy Act compliance where applicable in reference to this position.

Competencies:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

Extensive knowledge of fixed income, banking/brokerage, and macroeconomic principles.

Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, SNL, and other financial and database systems.

Knowledge of fixed income portfolio management principles, bond accounting, stress testing, and asset-liability management.
Required Education and Experience:
-
B.A./B.S. degree in business, economics, finance, or quantitative related field
CFP, MBA, CFA, CPA or related designations preferred -
6+ years of financial service experience required, capital markets experience strongly preferred

Expert knowledge of capital markets analytics, trading strategies, and risk management techniques

Expert knowledge of internal and external trading systems and related tools, including, but not limited to, Bloomberg, DSTS, and 3rd party electronic trading platforms
Series 7 and 66 required; 24 or 53 and desk specific licenses are required within 6 months

Preferred Education and Experience:
- MBA, CFA, CFP, CPA, Series 7, 63, 65, and/or 66 License(s).

10+ years’ experience in Finance, Investments, or Corporate Strategic Planning.
