Job Description
The Project Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day planning, organizing, supervising, quality control, and security and safety procedures on the assigned job sites, as well as accurate communication detailing the daily progress and bringing attention to potential problems. The Project Superintendent is to conduct all business in a professional manner and be aware of cost containment without compromising quality.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in multi-family and/or commercial construction
- As acting superintendent, have a minimum of overseeing projects valued greater than three million dollars
- Advanced knowledge of associated trades including Concrete, Framing, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Drywall, Finish Trades, Layout, etc.
- Computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project scheduling software
- Proven examples of leadership and collaboration experience. Experience in managing and directing subcontractors
- Demonstrated work ethic in communication and problem solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, excellent verbal and written skills, proactive problem solver
- Proficiency reading construction documents
Physical Requirements/Essential Functions
The superintendent position requires regular presence throughout active construction sites. The employee must be able to:
- Walk construction sites multiple times per day over uneven terrain;
- Frequently ascend and desend stairs;
- Climb ladders as necessary to access work areas;
- Perform site inspections in varying weather conditions;
- Safely navigate active construction environments.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily activities for all subcontractors at any stage of construction
- Complete all project construction in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
- Understand subcontractor subcontracts and scopes of work
- Provide ongoing scheduling input for the site conditions, manpower, and activities in sufficient detail
- Manage construction budgets set by the Project Manager, tracking construction costs, and submitting all invoices to Accounting in a timely manner
- Monitor daily construction procedures to make sure that proper quality is achieved
- Maintain consistent, daily communication with project management staff to ensure all parties are informed of current project status and potential issues affecting progress
- Ensure appropriate machinery and tools are available to assigned construction workers and that hand tools and power tools are in proper working order
- Schedule and participates in necessary inspections required by local and state regulations; organizes final inspections for completed work
- Respond to onsite incidents and emergencies per company procedures
- Ensure all parties follow all safety procedures and practices according to OHSA, WISHA, and company requirements
- Conduct pre-installation safety evaluations and action plans with contractors to ensure work activities are conducted in the safest possible manner
- Understand Chapter 296-155 WAC and how to properly implement it
Organizational Relationships
The Project Superintendent will interface with employees, subcontractors, and suppliers on a ongoing basis, verifying scheduling, construction standards, and security and safety. In addition, the Project Superintendent will provide concise instructions and appropriate feedback throughout the progress of construction to completion. They will provide immediate and accurate communication to the Project Manager, noting any potential problems and suggested solutions. When a Trouble Shooter is assigned, the Project Superintendent will coordinate daily, identifying areas of responsibility for each, and determining the tasks requiring interaction and those with exclusive responsibility.

Travel Requirements:
For this role you must be willing to travel. Be part of our project growth and successes in the Greater Spokane region including work and travel within approx. 300 miles of Spokane.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
