The HR Support Specialist - Staffing and Classification provides comprehensive classification, staffing, recruitment, and placement support to NSWCPD's Staffing and Classification Branch in accordance with applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations.

Assist with recruitment of new personnel, placement strategies, job analysis, and workforce planning.

Assist in the development of position descriptions, appropriate factor levels and grade levels for specific job titles, and the development of compensation plans.

Provide comprehensive classification, staffing, recruitment, and placement services in accordance with all federal laws, rules, and regulations.

Plan, coordinate, and develop facts and/or provide resolution support to various problems in one or more HR specialties; use government computers with office applications to prepare documents containing tables or graphs.

Support special projects and provide knowledge in establishing efficient, cost-effective organizational structures that support desired grade levels and facilitate career development.

Provide recommendations to management on organizational design with emphasis on career development principles and practices.

Perform data entry of Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs) in the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS); route RPAs into the appropriate Specialist's inbox and update the NSWCPD RPA Tracking System (CRTS) database.

5+ years of experience providing Human Resources services specifically in Staffing and Classification

Working knowledge of Government regulations, policies, and practices under Title 5, United States Code, and other applicable HR statutes and authorities.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Ability to research, analyze, and document HR methodology and findings.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees, supervisors, and managers.

Ability to handle sensitive and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.

Minimum Education - High School Diploma or GED
