About the Role
We are seeking a Medical Appointment Scheduler/Checkout Representative within our fast-paced, patient-centered orthopedic team. In this vital frontline role, you’ll help shape the first impression of our practice by offering friendly, efficient support to patients both over the phone and in person. You’ll guide patients through scheduling, answer basic questions, and ensure patients feel informed and supported at every interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule, coordinate, and confirm appointments while balancing provider availability and patient needs.
- Serve as a communication bridge between patients and our clinical team, ensuring timely and accurate information flow.
- Support registration, check-in, and check-out processes, including insurance verification and updating patient records.
- Maintain accurate documentation within our electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Manage scheduling conflicts, urgent requests, and patient concerns with patience and clear communication.
- Uphold our commitment to efficient, attentive, and personalized orthopedic care.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office or similar patient-facing role; orthopedic or specialty experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, patient-focused mindset.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable multitasking in a busy environment.
- Familiarity with EHR and scheduling systems (training available for the right candidate).
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and able to remain calm when priorities shift.
