Position SummaryThe Licensed Therapist Intern provides mental health counseling services under clinical supervision to individuals, families, couples, and groups experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns. The intern works collaboratively with clients to develop treatment goals, enhance coping skills, and support emotional wellness while adhering to ethical and professional standards.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related behavioral health field
- Active Therapist Intern license/certification in the state of practice
- Ability to work under clinical supervision and follow state licensing regulations
- Knowledge of mental health diagnoses, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, family, couples, and/or group therapy services under supervision
- Complete psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely manner
- Utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed therapeutic interventions
- Assist clients in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and behavioral management strategies
- Maintain accurate and ethical clinical documentation in compliance with agency and state standards
- Participate in supervision, case consultations, and team meetings
- Monitor client progress toward treatment goals and modify interventions as appropriate
- Provide crisis intervention and community resource referrals when needed
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with licensing board requirements

Position Summary:
The Licensed Therapist provides comprehensive mental health services to individuals, families, couples, and groups experiencing emotional, behavioral, relational, and psychological challenges. The therapist conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, and implements therapeutic interventions to support client growth, healing, and overall mental wellness.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field
- Active unrestricted professional license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of practice
- Minimum experience providing mental health counseling preferred
- Strong knowledge of DSM diagnoses, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and evidence-based practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and cultural competency practices
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and establish appropriate diagnoses
- Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable therapeutic goals
- Provide individual, family, couples, and group therapy services
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to client needs
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment updates
- Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as clinically indicated
- Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals to community resources as needed
- Collaborate with medical providers, schools, case managers, and other professionals involved in client care
- Maintain compliance with ethical standards, HIPAA regulations, and licensing requirements
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, supervision, and continuing education opportunities as required

Pay: $40.00 - $65.00 per hour
