Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Field Technician to join our team on a contractor basis. As an IT Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing on-site technical support and troubleshooting to our clients. The workload for this position may vary from day to day, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment. The successful candidate will need to have their own transportation and will be reimbursed for mileage for distances over 30 miles.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site technical support to clients, including hardware and software troubleshooting, network connectivity, and peripheral device installation.
- Conduct regular maintenance and repair of computer systems, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment as required.
- Install, upgrade, and configure software applications and operating systems.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of networks, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Respond to client inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Document all client interactions, including problem identification, troubleshooting steps, and resolution details.
- Collaborate with the IT team to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements in the IT field.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an IT Field Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
- Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet client needs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must have own transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment when required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
- Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Hold Atlanta Low Voltage License
