Duties
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety through vigilant child supervision and behavior management.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging youth group activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor games, educational lessons, and recreational outings.
- Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a positive environment conducive to learning and fun.
- Apply first aid and CPR protocols promptly and effectively in case of minor injuries or emergencies.
- Support children with special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to develop youth development programs that promote social skills, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incident reports, and activity participation to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED operation is required; ongoing training is encouraged.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively while fostering a supportive environment.
- Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive settings is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to engage children positively and collaborate with colleagues and parents.
- Outdoor work experience or familiarity with outdoor activities enhances suitability for this role.
