We're looking for an experienced US HR & People Operations Lead who enjoys solving day-to-day HR challenges, supporting employees, and keeping HR operations running smoothly for our fast-growing US team.
In this highly hands-on role, you'll oversee HR operations, employee relations, California employment compliance, and immigration processes while serving as the primary point of contact for our US employees and the operational bridge between our local team and our China-based HR shared services team.

Key Responsibilities
- Immigration & Visa Management: Monitor employee work authorizations (including H-1B, OPT, CPT). Maintain databases, proactively manage visa renewal timelines, and coordinate directly with external immigration attorneys.
- Manager & Employee Law Support: Provide practical guidance to managers on handling compliance, delivering feedback, and documenting performance according to US and California labor laws.
- People Operations & Compliance: Manage the entire end-to-end employee lifecycle. Execute onboarding, offboarding, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), and terminations. Act as the primary point of contact for daily employee relations and compliance enforcement.
- Cross-Border Payroll & Administration: Act as the operational bridge with our China-based payroll execution team. Gather accurate HR data, track headcount changes, and perform monthly payroll reconciliations.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on HR Generalist or People Operations experience in the United States.
- Labor Law Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of US Federal and State labor regulations. Strong working knowledge of California employment law.
- Immigration Experience: Proven experience tracking and coordinating work visas (H-1B, OPT, CPT) directly with external legal counsel.
- Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in English is required. Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus.
- Work Style: : Highly autonomous, resourceful, and hands-on, with strong troubleshooting skills and a passion for solving day-to-day employee and compliance challenges.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in high-growth startups or multinational organizations is a plus.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
