Part-Time Language Arts & History Teacher
Infinity Heights Learning Community – Mesa, AZ
Infinity Heights Learning Community is looking for a passionate, creative, and energetic teacher/tutor to join our growing homeschool learning community!
We are a unique, hands-on program that believes learning should be more than sitting behind a desk. Our students learn through a combination of academics, movement, games, projects, and real-world experiences in a fun and supportive environment.
We are currently looking for someone to teach Language Arts and History to small groups of homeschool students.
The Position
This is a part-time, in-person position with weekday morning hours. Teaching is approximately 3 hours per day, plus preparation time.
We currently have two small Language Arts groups:
- Grades 1–4 – approximately 5 students
- Grades 5–6 – approximately 5 students
The grade groupings are flexible and can be adjusted based on the teacher's experience and comfort level.
Language Arts
Our Language Arts classes are designed to provide structure while allowing students to work at their own pace.
Students will primarily work independently in their workbooks, with the teacher providing guidance, answering questions, checking work, and offering individualized support as needed.
We also want Language Arts to be fun! Ideally, the teacher will incorporate engaging group games and activities connected to the skills students are currently learning—turning grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and other concepts into interactive learning experiences.
History
Our History class is hands-on, engaging, and project-based. Rather than relying solely on lectures and worksheets, students will learn through:
- Hands-on projects
- Games and interactive activities
- Group activities
- Creative projects
- Movement and experiential learning
- Discussions and collaborative learning
We are looking for someone who can bring history to life and make students excited to learn!
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Is passionate about working with children and helping them learn
- Is knowledgeable and confident in Language Arts and/or History
- Enjoys working with small groups
- Is creative and willing to make learning fun
- Can provide patient, individualized support
- Is comfortable encouraging students to work independently
- Enjoys hands-on and project-based learning
- Is dependable, enthusiastic, and professional
- Can create a positive and encouraging classroom environment
A teaching degree is not required, but is preferred. We are also very interested in individuals with strong subject knowledge, teaching experience, tutoring experience, homeschooling experience, or a genuine passion for working with students.
Schedule
Part-time | Weekday mornings
Approximately 3 hours of teaching per day, plus prep time.
Specific days and class assignments can be discussed based on availability and experience.
Compensation
Compensation: TBD based on experience and qualifications.
