Farm/Ranch Hand – Property Maintenance
Seeking an honest and dependable cowboy, with or without horse, that is knowledgeable in several farm & ranch areas. Full time and permanent position located in Decatur, TX. Pay depending on experience.
Job Description
Farm & Ranch – acts under the direction of the Manager. The right candidate would be responsible for tending to livestock, pasture land, and-or equipment and shop maintenance/organization.
Experience/Requirements
- Local to Decatur, TX
- Recent work handling and tending to livestock
- Ability to operate Farm & Ranch equipment
- Basic understanding of grounds keeping
- Current drivers license with acceptable driving record
- Able to pass a background and drug test
- Dependable and reliable transportation- in any weather
- Able to lift, push, pull up to 75 lbs if needed
- 40 hours per week is standard, and mornings start early. However, this job will require overtime and may include weekends depending on situation.
Functions/Responsibilities
- Feed and tend to livestock (may include administering supplements or medications) Cleaning water troughs, Maintaining hay, Visually inspecting horses for injuries or lameness
- Operating and maintaining farm equipment, Tractor (mowing and moving hay) Grounds keeping equipment, Fluid levels, tires, etc.
- Grounds keeping, Mowing pasture, lawn, Light tree trimming, Keeping beds clean, Other miscellaneous duties as needed
