Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, including knowledge of anatomy, infection control, and various dental specialties such as prosthodontics and pediatrics. The Dental Assistant will work closely with the dentist to ensure smooth operations within the dental clinic while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the dental clinic environment, ensuring it is clean and organized in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage patient records, including scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate documentation of treatments performed.
- Assist in the preparation of dental materials for procedures, including impressions and prosthetics.
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques to prevent infection and promote patient safety.
- Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to young patients and assisting in their treatment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to dental health is essential.
- Familiarity with prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and infection control practices is highly advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant coursework is a plus but not required.
