Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Diesel Shop Administrator to oversee the daily operations of our diesel repair facility. This pivotal role involves managing parts inventory, coordinating procurement, and ensuring seamless communication between suppliers, technicians, and dispatchers. As a key team member, you will drive efficiency, optimize parts sourcing, and support the overall success of our service operations with enthusiasm and precision.
Duties
- Manage parts administration, inventory control, and parts management to ensure accurate stock levels and timely availability of components
- Oversee procurement management including sourcing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, negotiating pricing, and maintaining supplier relationships to secure quality parts at competitive prices
- Coordinate shipping & receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient movement of parts
- Support demand planning by analyzing usage patterns, forecasting needs, and optimizing inventory levels to meet service demands without excess stock
- Collaborate with service teams on vehicle systems diagnostics, parts sourcing for repairs, and scheduling maintenance activities
- Maintain internal communication channels to facilitate smooth operations across departments while ensuring data entry accuracy in all relevant systems
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supply chain management, supplier management, procurement management, or inventory control within an automotive or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of parts & accessories management
- Familiarity with warehouse management practices including shipping & receiving procedures and logistics inventory management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation
- Mechanical knowledge related to truck or trailer repair processes; understanding of OEM standards is advantageous
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with sourcing expertise to optimize pricing strategies and supplier relationships
- Ability to perform data entry accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong internal communication skills to coordinate effectively across teams involved in parts administration and customer service
