You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment operates at peak performance. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and air brake systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes ,and brake repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, HVAC units, and other complex machinery components.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment using power tools, welding techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during maintenance or repair procedures.
- Assemble new or repaired equipment ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed and communicate effectively with customers about work completed or needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience with heavy equipment repair, with hands-on mechanic experience.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems diagnostics.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting complex machinery issues.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools.
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to vehicle maintenance including air brake systems and hydraulic safety standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
