Registered Nurse (RN) – Mobile Wound Care
Independent Contractor | 5–10 Hours per Week
Pay: $60–$100 per completed visit
Job Summary
PNW Wound Specialist LLC is seeking a dependable Registered Nurse to provide mobile wound care in patient homes and care facilities.
This is a 1099 independent-contractor position designed for an RN who can consistently dedicate approximately 5–10 hours each week. Visits can be arranged around your availability, but patients must be seen consistently on their scheduled weekly visit days.
The RN performs provider-ordered conservative wound care under the direction of a PA-C and supervising physician.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete provider-ordered wound dressing changes
- Apply and manage compression therapy as ordered
- Cleanse wounds and provide moisture management
- Obtain wound measurements and track edema
- Observe the wound bed and surrounding skin
- Document objective findings accurately
- Upload wound photographs and monitor progress
- Educate patients about wound-care adherence, offloading, elevation, compression, and warning signs
- Promptly report changes or concerns to the PA-C
- Follow PNW clinical, HIPAA, documentation, and compliance standards
Compensation
- Tier 1 visit: $60
- Tier 2 visit: $80
- Tier 3 visit: $100
- Paid per completed and approved visit
- Payments issued monthly
This is a 1099 independent-contractor position. The contractor is responsible for tracking mileage for tax purposes. Mileage and travel time are not separately reimbursed.
Schedule and Service Area
- Approximately 5–10 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling based on your availability
- Consistent weekly patient visits required

Qualifications
Required:
- Active, unrestricted Washington State RN license
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Professional liability insurance
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver’s license and appropriate automobile insurance
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a mobile environment
- Ability to maintain a dependable weekly schedule
Preferred:
- Current wound-care certification
- Wound-care experience
- Home health, facility-based, or mobile-care experience
- Experience with compression therapy
Training and Certification Development
Wound-care certification is preferred but not required. PNW Wound Specialist provides training and support from our Certified Wound Specialist team at no cost to the RN.
The selected RN should be interested in developing wound-care expertise and working toward obtaining an approved wound-care certification within the first year of working with PNW Wound Specialist.
Scope of the RN Role
The RN may:
- Perform wound care according to active provider orders
- Apply ordered compression therapy
- Document completed care and objective observations
- Educate patients within the established care plan
- Escalate clinical concerns to the PA-C
The RN does not:
- Independently create or change treatment plans
- Perform debridement
- Apply or remove skin substitutes or grafts
- Independently stage or reclassify wounds
- Make medical-necessity determinations
- Select or recommend billing codes
