About the Role
We are a premier staffing agency with immediate openings for a dependable Forklift Driver / Laborer with one of our top clients in Knoxville, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a sit-down forklift and handling general yard labor in an outdoor environment.
Lumber yard or building materials experience is a big plus!
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move, stack, and transport lumber and building materials.
- Order Fulfillment: Pull, stage, load, and unload customer orders and incoming/outgoing trucks accurately.
- Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory, inspect materials for quality, and assist with cutting, banding, wrapping, and securing lumber bundles.
- General Labor: Keep the yard clean and safe by performing general maintenance tasks (sweeping, debris removal).
- Customer Service: Assist yard customers by locating and loading materials into vehicles.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Previous forklift experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, manufacturing, or construction environment preferred.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds regularly and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Traits: Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to safety.
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
