We are looking for an Bi-Lingual individual that is eager to learn both front and back office as a medical assistant. The right candidate must be reliable, outgoing, friendly, has a positive attitude and enjoys working with patients/children, who is also willing to work Monday-Thursday from 8 am-5:00 pm and Fridays from 8 am to 3pm.
Requirements:
Pediatrics experience would be a plus. But not required.
Some knowledge of health insurance plans and insurance eligibility verification experience
Self-motivated, ability to prioritize
Able to multi-task
Strong telephone communication skills
Professional appearance, consistent attendance and punctuality
Reliable transportation is a must.
Duties: (not limited to)
Greeting patients
Scheduling patient appointments and follow-up visits
Answering multi-line phone system
Collecting copay's, co-insurances and outstanding balances
Confirming appointments
Scanning patient documents into accounts
Medical Records and Faxes
Check in and out patients
Knowing the immunization schedule is a plus
Comfortable administering vaccinations to children
Familiar with the VFC (Vaccines For Children) program
Calling patients back with results
Call in prescriptions refills
Assisting Doctor in small procedures
Flexibility in schedule
Computer literate (EMR experience a Plus!)
Enjoys working with Children
Gets along with co-workers and patients
