Responsibilities

- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications in compliance with state and federal regulations, including DEA guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient encounters accurately and maintain detailed medical records.
- Provide patient education on medication use, side effects, and lifestyle modifications to promote adherence and recovery.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing mental health services.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in Psychiatry or Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program.
- Demonstrated experience working with behavioral health patients in settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or community health centers.
- Proficiency with EHR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for documentation and patient management.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration and monitoring for efficacy and adverse effects.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms to provide remote psychiatric care effectively.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
- Ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations, vital signs assessment, and basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred.
