We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Pet Store Associate to lead by example in our retail and Grooming and Vet Clinic departments. You will provide advanced nutritional advice, manage inventory for specific categories, and ensure the highest standards of animal welfare. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for retail, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
Veterinary Assistant experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers, answer questions, and assist with purchases
- Provide product recommendations and offer advice on merchandise
- Operate a cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- Handle POS transactions accurately and manage opening/closing procedures
- Maintain store appearance, including cleaning and stocking shelves
- Process returns and exchanges in accordance with store policies
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve customer disputes diplomatically.
- Upsell and cross-sell products to increase sales
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low stock
- Assist with restocking shelves and ensuring products are properly displayed
- Utilize retail math skills to calculate discounts and process sales
- Participate in visual merchandising efforts to create an inviting store environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales goals and meet customer needs
-Assist with grooming and Veterinary clinic needs
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
