The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, profitability, and daily operations of The Crusty Pig. This role oversees all front-of-house and back-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, high food and beverage quality standards, and a positive workplace culture. The General Manager leads and develops staff while maintaining the restaurant's reputation as a premier local dining destination.
Key Responsibilities: Operations Management
- Direct all daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain high standards for food quality, cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and labor regulations.
- Monitor and improve operational procedures to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures and ensure proper facility maintenance.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate restaurant staff.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
- Address employee concerns and resolve workplace conflicts professionally.
- Develop future leaders through mentorship and training programs.
Guest Experience
- Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
- Handle guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Build relationships with regular customers and the local community.
- Monitor service standards and implement improvements when needed.
Financial Management
- Manage labor costs, food costs, beverage costs, and operating expenses.
- Analyze sales reports, profit and loss statements, and key performance metrics.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
- Oversee cash handling, deposits, inventory controls, and purchasing.
- Prepare budgets and financial forecasts.
Inventory & Vendor Relations
- Manage inventory levels for food, beverages, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and negotiate pricing when appropriate.
- Ensure accurate ordering and minimize waste.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and audits.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Support promotional events, seasonal menu launches, and special programs.
- Assist with social media and local marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate on community events and partnerships.
- Support unique restaurant initiatives, including competitions, special menus, and guest engagement activities.
Qualifications Required
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong financial and business management abilities.
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of food safety, labor laws, and restaurant operations.
- Preferred
- Full-service restaurant management experience.
- Experience managing bar operations and beverage programs.
- Experience with POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management platforms.
- ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent.
