Job Summary:
Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant with a passion for working with pediatric patents. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, proven comprehensive clinical experience, and a commitment to high-quality care for our patients. This RDA role is designed with growth in mind: the ideal candidate is interested in working alongside the doctor to take on more leadership responsibilities over time and to eventually take on a full time position.
This role is four-five days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate warmly and clearly with patients, parents, and staff.
- Capture high-quality, diagnostic dental radiographs for pediatric patients.
- Perform thorough and gentle coronal polishing.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain strict infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA, CDC, and state regulations.
- Set up treatment rooms with appropriate instruments & materials for pediatric dental procedures.
- Assist with operative procedures using skilled four-handed techniques.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed clinical documentation and patient records.
- Provide education to patients and parents.
- Work alongside doctor to understand systems of the practice, and assist in implementing these systems in the office.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2+ years of experience as a dental assistant in a pediatric dental setting.
- Active RDA license in the State of California with coronal polishing, x-ray, and infection control certifications.
- Confidence in basic pediatric behavior management with demonstrated past experience.
- Able to independently assist chairside for procedures including composites, pulpotomies, SSCs, extractions, and space maintainers.
- Skilled in taking diagnostic radiographs for pediatric patients.
- Competency in computer skills for digital charting.
Desired Qualifications:
- Actively provides cross-office support as needed (i.e. front office: answering calls, scheduling patients).
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
