Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients to meet quality standards.
- Support cooking processes by following recipes and safety guidelines to ensure consistent dish quality.
- Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques and adhering to food safety regulations.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies, ingredients, and equipment using safe lifting practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment through regular bussing and sanitation routines.
- Support serving activities by helping with plating, garnishing, and delivering food to guests or service areas.
- Operate POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing when required in restaurant or banquet settings.
- Assist with banquet setups, event catering, and guest services to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to uphold high standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Knowledge of food service procedures, including food handling and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and safe lifting practices.
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, serving, and bussing in fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and guests.
- Experience in banquet service or hotel culinary operations is advantageous.
- Demonstrated commitment to food safety standards and customer service excellence.
