We are seeking an experienced Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our team at our Wake Forest office. This position will play an important role in supporting our insurance operations while also providing exceptional customer service to our patients.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of dental insurance, eligibility and benefits, billing, and insurance claims, along with excellent communication and organizational skills. When insurance responsibilities are caught up, this team member will also support our call center by answering incoming patient calls and assisting with scheduling and general patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
Dental Insurance
- Answer incoming patient billing and insurance calls and assist with questions regarding balances, claims, and insurance coverage.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits accurately and thoroughly.
- Enter and maintain insurance information in the practice management system.
- Review insurance benefits and communicate coverage information clearly to patients and team members.
- Assist with insurance claims, including researching claim issues and providing necessary information or documentation.
- Follow up on outstanding insurance-related questions and issues.
- Maintain accurate and current patient insurance information.
- Identify discrepancies and work with the appropriate team members to resolve them.
- Provide excellent customer service while handling sensitive billing and insurance questions.
Call Center Support
- Answer incoming patient calls when insurance responsibilities are caught up.
- Schedule and confirm appointments as needed.
- Assist patients with general questions and direct calls to the appropriate team member or office.
- Provide a professional, friendly, and helpful experience on every call.
- Help support the call center during periods of higher call volume.
Qualifications
- Dental insurance experience is required.
- Strong understanding of dental insurance terminology, benefits, eligibility, claims, and patient billing.
- Experience verifying dental insurance benefits and entering insurance information accurately.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable speaking with patients regarding insurance and financial questions.
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented.
- Previous experience with dental practice management software is preferred.
