American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Operating Room position requiring a LA or compact RN license and OR nursing experience.

Hospital-based Operating Room/Surgery unit on a MIDS shift schedule
-
Patient population includes limited pediatric (ortho only), adult, and geriatric cases
-
Main campus performs Ortho (Mako total knees/hips, gamma nails), Podiatry, Hand, Spine/Crani, General surgery (including robotic), and Urology procedures
-
Float campus caseload includes Pain, ENT (including pediatric), Urology, Gynecology, Podiatry, General, and some Ortho cases
-
1:1 nurse to patient ratio

Schedule is Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
-
On-call required 1-2 times per week and every 3rd weekend (Friday-Sunday)

Floating required between two campus locations within the OR
-
13-week assignment, full time
-
Active LA or compact RN license required
-
BLS certification required
-
1 year of experience in Operating Room nursing preferred

BSN preferred
-
Provide nursing care using the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for surgical patients

Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
-
Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
-
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided

Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers

Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed

Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
-
Previous employees of any CHRISTUS facility must be separated for 6 months prior to being considered for this assignment
