Job Description:
Dedicated and experienced Class B CDL Truck Driver to operate and keep clean a truck to collect and transport materials in Pierce, King, Kitsap, and Snohomish counties.
Responsibilities:
1. Safe Operation of a Truck:
- Drive a Class B CDL-equipped truck in compliance with all relevant traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the proper functioning and safety of the vehicle.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
2. Material Collection:
- Collect materials from designated locations, such as residential areas or businesses.
- Safely load and unload materials to/from the truck, ensuring proper loading and handling.
3. Route Planning and Optimization:
- Efficiently follow and navigate routes to maximize productivity and minimize fuel consumption.
- Adhere to established schedules and timelines for material collection.
4. Customer Interaction:
- Interact professionally with customers, the general public, and provide assistance when needed.
- Address inquiries or concerns related to provided services, maintaining a positive and customer-focused attitude.
5. Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform routine maintenance on the truck, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, tire wear, overall truck condition, and keeping debris picked up and properly disposed.
- Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions promptly to the appropriate personnel.
6. Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
- Complete and maintain accurate records, such as driver logs, service reports, vehicle inspection reports, and any required paperwork.
- Washington State Department of Transportation requires pre and post trip equipment inspections to be performed daily.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement.
- Proven experience as a truck driver.
- Clean driving record with a focus on safety.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with local traffic laws and routes.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to step in and out of cab many times a day
- Stamina to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and prolonged periods of driving.
- Safely climb fixed and secure ladders to 14’.
