Job Overview
We are looking for a high-performing Director of Sales, US to drive our market entry and brand expansion across the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for building our U.S. sales strategy from 0 to 1, establishing B2B distribution networks, managing key retail accounts, and leading our sales operations.
The ideal candidate has proven B2B sales experience in CPG, Asian food/beverage, home goods, or health products, with a deep network of regional distributors, Asian supermarkets, and retail buyers.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Development & Execution
- Prospecting & Outreach: Identify and research target accounts based on our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP). Conduct outreach via cold calling, email, LinkedIn, trade shows, and on-site visits.
- Discovery & Qualification: Lead discovery calls, qualify potential accounts, and analyze customer profiles (category fit, price range, margins, store count, and procurement processes).
- Sampling & Pitching: Oversee sample distribution, gather feedback within 7 days, present approved quotes, and handle objections to close deals.
- Account Growth: Maintain ongoing client relationships to drive reorders, expand store coverage, and introduce new SKUs.
Strategy, Pricing & Policy Setup
- Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy: Formulate US channel strategies, regional coverage plans, and B2B pricing models (including discounts, payment terms, returns, and distribution policies).
- Pipeline & Forecasting: Establish the sales pipeline, CRM deal stages, and weekly forecasting mechanisms. Accurately manage CRM metrics (stage, deal value, probability, expected close date, next steps).
Cross-Functional & Team Management
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage the US sales team as business expands. Ensure strict adherence to approved labels, product claims, quotation templates, and contract terms.
- Cross-Border Coordination: Collaborate closely with China-based brand management, supply chain, compliance, finance, and 3PL partners to ensure smooth onboarding and order fulfillment.
- Executive Reporting: Provide regular sales forecasts, market insights, competitive analysis, and resource recommendations to the CEO.
First 90 Days Expected Key Results (KPIs)
- Build a qualified target database of 500+ target accounts.
- Achieve 200+ meaningful customer touchpoints.
- Complete 8+ qualified discovery meetings.
- Execute 10+ sample shipments and submit 6+ formal proposals.
- Establish weekly sales forecasting and CRM management workflows.
- Secure at least 1 active initial purchase order (PO).
- Present the next-phase channel expansion and hiring roadmap to the CEO.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- 7+ years of B2B sales experience in the US, with at least 3+ years in sales management.
- Industry background in CPG, Food & Beverage, Home Goods, Health Products, or wholesale/retail channels.
- Proven track record of building a market/channel from 0 to 1 and closing initial strategic orders.
- Deep familiarity with US distributors, regional wholesalers, and retail buyers.
- Strong financial acumen in managing pricing, gross margins, credit terms, and sales budgets.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.), Excel, or Google Sheets.
- Full business proficiency in English (negotiation and written).
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to travel 30%50% as required.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Established network in Asian supermarkets, regional chains, food distributors, or independent retail channels.
- Experience bringing imported/international brands into the US market.
- Professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese to communicate seamlessly with China-based brand teams and manufacturing plants.
- Hands-on experience with product compliance (FDA/USDA/NOP), import logistics, 3PL, or Amazon B2B channels.
Pay: $48,000.00 - $144,000.00 per year
